New album: Ghost Notes Vol 2 (2023)

This is my second collection of cover songs, including a diverse range of pieces from Christine McVie, King Crimson, Tom Waits, Randy Newman and many more. This turned out to be a very mellow, late-night collection, based mostly around acoustic guitar, piano and harmony vocals. And I think producer Clive Culbertson worked some real magic on this material, the quietest things I’ve done in years.

The Book of Absolution (2022)

This is a very personal collection, songs about love, loss, childhood and memory, and contains what I believe is some of the strongest material of my career. It also has some stellar playing on it from all kinds of special guests - Ciaran Lavery on backing vocals, Clive Culbertson on bass, John McCullough on piano, Nick Scott on upright bass, Matt Weir on drums, Neil Martin and Maebh Martin on cello and viola, the Arco String Quartet… You can listen to a couple of sample tracks HERE.

Emperor (2022) - back on sale!

After years of requests from friends, Anthony released in March 2022 an all-acoustic collection of fan favourites from the back catalogue - and some personal selections. All of it has been recorded with one voice and one guitar (apart from some harmonies from producer Clive Culbertson on ‘The Way Love Goes’ - and a short guitar solo overdub on ‘Miles and Weather’).

The most recent collection, a suite of songs inspired by Belfast - and the east of the city in particular. Features the title track, Hillfoot Street and God Look Down to Mrs. Boyd, among others. A music and spoken word collaboration with the poet Frank Ormsby - each poem (read by Frank) is followed by an instrumental inspired by the poem - with performances from Neil Martin on cello and Linley Hamilton on trumpet.
